New Credit Ombud to replace van Schalkwyk

It has been announced that Nicky Lala-Mohan will be taking over the reins from outgoing Credit Ombud Manie van Schalkwyk. Lala-Mohan, who previously served on the council as chairperson, will officially step into his new position on 1 February 2015.

Van Schalkwyk congratulated the new Credit Ombud in an official press release, saying that he has all the confidence that Lala-Mohan will take the office to great heights.

According to the Credit Ombud Office, who is celebrating its 10 year milestone this year, Lala-Mohan’s wealth of experience in the credit industry will definitely stand him in good stead to continue with the good work of his predecessors.

Having held various positions in the credit industry for more than 20 years, Lala-Mohan is no stranger to the Credit Ombud Council. He has an impressive track record working in the banking sphere and has been with the Banking Association for 11 years. Van Schalkwyk will be stepping down after 10 years at the Credit Ombud.
